An overview of mammalian endocrine systems with an emphasis on human physiology and development. The interplay between systemic, local cell, and tissue interactions as well as the cell and molecular events associated with hormone action are discussed. Examples of endocrine evolution and pathological conditions associated with endocrine imbalances also are included. Prerequisite: Biol 297A. Medium-size class. Credit 3 units.
